I remember a few years ago, it was something like government spending equates to about $15,000 per person.

So someone has a 40K year job, their income tax burden is like 4k.

I'm supposed to cheer for the person who only cost me 11k versus 15k?

Unemployment was historically low, so I don't see how blaming the unemployed means anything.

If we print money and the dollar loses 10% of its value, billionaires will lose 10% of their value, right?

99% of that 47% are registered Democrats

I like my trash getting picked up weekly and an interstate to drive on.

I think we are talking about different things. You asked why we need to pay taxes. But now you are talking about inflation and what not. There is no doubt that there is an inflation problem of giant proportions, but are you trying to say that you think the Fed should just print unlimited money and have no tax revenue coming back in at all?

I mean I don't profess to be an economist or a tax specialist but even I can see that having no taxes whatsoever and an unlimited printing of money system would be catastrophic. The real problem is that many contribute nothing, while some contribute much more than their share, per population ratio.

“Yes, just a small soda and a value menu burger, please.“

“That’ll be $42.85. Please pull forward.”

Plus, it seems like his premise suggests that he doesn't like having to pay taxes when others don't, and that it is unfair "its costing him [money]." But, if we start printing unlimited money and cease taxing, won't they just tap into things like 401k and pension accounts and what not to cover the costs of things taxes used to go towards?

American households held over $98 trillion of wealth in 2018

All spending (fed, state, local) was $7.3 Trillion, all receipts were $5.4 Trillion.

So the inflation factor would be about 1.9%, right?

The value of your dollar would drop, but the total dollars you keep would go up.

No sales tax, no property tax, no gas tax, no taxes at all.

You keep everything, and buy what you can.
