I spent a summer in Alaska as a kid near Homer. We saw killer whales every day and I’d have nightmares frequently that they tipped over our boat. People would kayak out there near them and I just knew I’d see a bloodbath. For the most part they just looked like playful dolphins but they are killing machines.

But there is no confirmed kill of a human by an orca in the wild. Only in captivity. Sea World let an orca that had killed two people kill again and thus the new regulations on orca shows in America.

Orcas are the baddest animal in the sea.

They're like bigger, stronger dolphins that hunt large prey in packs. Smart AF.

They're basically harvesting shark livers.

ETA:

They have memories and learned behavior. They also play with their food.

Its some crazy shite.

Could an Orca take down a Great White one on one without the help of the pack?

Do people really watch shark week? That’s got to be below wrestling on the intellectual stimulation scale

Absolutely, assuming an adult orca.

Absolutely. The whale would bitch slap the great white with it's tail and then it's game over for the shark.

Did you see the part where the shark beached itself to get away from the orcas? The orcas scare the sharks so bad that literally try getting out of the water. That is mad respect.

That was a little shark though. The lady got her back in the water by herself.

Here's a seal trying to avoid being eaten by orcas. Sorry for the bleeps.

I'd push that little fricker back in for fear the Orcas would attack the boat.

Easily. They're bigger, faster, stronger, and smarter.

Several spots in the northwest. I’ve seen videos off coast of Alaska and Washington.

They roam so much that it's hit or miss. We even get them downtown sometimes.

Point retreat is one of my favorite places. It's a lighthouse on the north end of Admiralty Island just off the coast here in Juneau. You can kayak there In a half hour from town. Lots of sea lions and humpbacks too

(Not my pic. ) Stay off the island though, there are almost 2,000 brown bears there. More than one per square mile

Resurrection Bay near Seward is also a good spot.

Whale Week doesn’t roll off the tongue the way Shark Week does.
