SUV's are cool.
"Cool" is almost by definition impractical. Think of rich people wearing elaborate outfits made out of the least durable, most cost ineffective materials. Stylish chicks wearing outlandish hats and shoes.
What is practical is only rarely cool and then it is in a reactionary or ironic way.

Been looking at new SUVs. Honestly liked the way the Pilot drove best, but when I got out of it and looked it over again, I realized it looked like a minivan and then got the F off that lot.

I don’t have one, but I’ve driven my brothers with his 3 and my 3 children. It’s crazy efficient and loaded with gadgets. If I had 4 or 5 kiddos I’d be rocking the frick out of one.
