Same can be said about the red neck autobahn(I12)

This huge wreck has got me thinking why these people think their better than everyone else. You see it every day. Beat to shite truck or 18wheeler weaving in and out of traffic, riding everyone’s arse. Is just so ingrained in their blood to be assholes that they really can’t help it or can something be done?

What are some of the OTs ideas to fix the problem. The daily wrecks and delays are ridiculous and these people are the cause 9/10.

Like stated in all the other threads... expand to three lanes... i would say from Slidell to Lafayette would be ideal

It's pretty easy to get a CDL, but a lot of times it is inpatient drivers causing the problems and truck drivers get the blame.

Get out of the passing lane unless you are actually passing.

I'm most nervous driving I-10 Eastbound from BR to MSY in the early morning (5am-7am) with the plant baws weaving in and out of traffic...

I travel both 10 and 12 from state line to state line 3/4 times a week.... it’s not just the Big rigs... you’ve got a lot of aggressive drivers in 4 wheelers too .... also you have the comatose drivers camped out in the passing lane or they just stay there because god forbid someone get ahead of them.... RV’s that have inexperienced drivers behind the wheel... people towing fifth wheels.... the list goes on and on...
as for the wreck Monday there were a lot of factors that created the chain reaction that led to it.... truck broke down on shoulder... pouring down rain... people camped out next to big rigs so they had no where to go when they came up on truck on the shoulder....distracted drivers
You could make the interstate 8 lanes wide and you’d still have wrecks like the one Monday

I have more issues with the bubba derby that happens every morning where the baws in the F350s are going 90 in a 60 on I-110.

Give the state police access to the same telemetry data that the trucking companies have. Then use that date like red light cameras and start giving out tickets.

Make it a serious felony to tamper with or alter the data. Put some serious fines on it with the local jurisdiction able to keep a percentage of that money.

How quickly do you think that will morph into telemetry data for all drivers?

I’m always surprised that there aren’t more horrible wrecks on 110. Driving 70 on that stretch is like sitting still.

Time is everything for them.. If they get behind at one point, they have to try to make up time at another point.

Because dumbasses act like idiots around 18 wheelers then expect them to stop on a dime because of their idiocy
