And I usually come into those threads and tell those people to kiss my posterior. I don't see the shame in it. Better living through chemistry.

It's pretty easy to understand.

Taking meds isn't something most people are proud of, especially if it's for something that can be accomplished without them.

I wouldn't shame anyone for it, but completely understand why people wouldn't be upfront about it.

Maybe cause they look like a hypocrite saying Big Pharma sucks or our healthcare system is too expensive but then defaulting to something that's expensive, subsidized by insurance in most cases when the majority of people have the ability to lose the weight on their own but lack the control and discipline so they chose to easier, more expensive way.

I kind of get what you're saying because in many other instances people should be ashamed of the things they do, but this doesn't fit. I don't have a billboard of my Only Fans up on I-10. I'm not sniffing cocaine off of a hooker's arse in public. I'm a nice guy above 50 whose metabolism and knees present challenges a lot of the "people choose to be fat" attitude-having people don't have. To me, you're just bullying people who are trying to get healthier. We got it -- you're better than everyone else. I don't give a shite.

Of course it does. You’re just choosing to be a hypocrite here. Which is fine, just don’t lie about it. We’re all hypocrites on some things

Nobodies perfect, that ok. I skip the gym sometimes, I eat ice cream sometimes, I leave my dishes in the sink sometimes.

All of those are ok to do, I just don’t make up bullshite excuses for why I do them. I chose to prioritize other shite, I wasn’t “too tired” or it wasn’t “too hard” or whatever excuse you want to use. I just didn’t fricking do it.

one of my coworkers is always bitching about people being on ozempic and he's juiced to the gills. He doesn't like that some fat people don't have the discipline to lose weight while he doesn't have the discipline to build natural muscle.

You ever take antibiotics? Why? You know your body has something called an immune system and if you just let your body do the work your body may overcome whatever infection you have. What are you, some kind of pussy?

It seems the stigma is fading and I know a ton (no pun intended) of people that are on them...but why is it so hush hush and people talk about it like "don't tell anyone but I heard sally is on Ozempic."

Because people are obsessed with their image and are clout chasers. They want people to think they did that shite on their own and congratulate them, when what really happened is they were forced to stop being a fatty because they injected a hormone into their body that restricts them from eating 10,000 calories a day.
i wonder.

What's retarded is that you care about what grown adults exercising their freedom are doing that doesn't hurt you.

It feels very much like when I was growing up and people would lie or gossip about someone who was seeing a mental health counselor.

Because a large chunk of the people on this medication haven’t really tried to lose weight the natural, healthy way and they’re either ashamed of it or want people to think they actually put in the work to make the changes

Just like anything else these days, it’s all about other peoples’ perception of you

I assume you have no opinion on transgenders then.

fricking idiot, you have opinions on all sorts of shite, we all do. It’s called living in society.

And for the record, your fatass being on hormone therapy absolutely affects me.

They see it as a short cut and possibly laziness. People who take short cuts and are lazy deserve shame.

Those who are doing the right things but still need it, salute.

Most people are not doing the right things.

95%+ that take these drugs just have a defeatist attitude. That’s a fact, no matter how upset you all get about it
arent you like 5'4" though? most people here take bigger shits that you.

I'm not ashamed about taking it. I am ashamed of allowing myself to be so lazy and get so overweight. But I will take all the help I can get.

Healthcare costs affect everyone.

The same can be said for the person eating McDonalds every day. Their healthcare costs affect more than just them.

Ozempic use will eventually kill or maim a lot of people. Proper diet takes time but is the only right choice.
