re: Why do so many people fail to understand the left-lane rules?

That's not your determination to make. You still have to move to the right lane when there is room regardless of what the other driver is doing. If you don't move over, you are breaking the law. If you are actively passing another car, then you are correct. If you aren't, you're causing the roadway to be more dangerous.
Damn right it is my determination to make. I'm going 75-80 in the left after traffic dies down after rush hour in a posted 65 mph. Not getting out of the way for someone to go 100 in a 65. If you lived in a major metro, you'd understand.
If you really think in that situation any cop would pull me over and not the guy going 35 mph over in a Dodge Charger or F-250. 35 mph over is you're going to jail territory.

So, you break a second law because you think it is unreasonable that someone is going faster than you and it is your job to police them? Quite the hubris you have there.

Wait, so you are breaking the law by speeding. And now you want the person in front of you to break it more by hurrying to get out of the way of your road rage arse?

I love how people are complaining about others causing accidents when they are doing 90 on the Interstate.

At no point is this what I said. Try reading it again or read the rest of the context behind the person I responded to?

I dont follow the white mans rules

Its because people get in the left lane and start playing on their phones. I see it all day ever day everywhere. Its pretty rare these days to see people driving without some sort of distraction in their face. Why the auto makers have decided that these morons now need full sized tablets in the dash to play videos on while driving down the road is what I'd like to know. This country needs less distractions behind the wheel but there's full blown screens in front of their faces now.

Bro you don't get out the house to have a limo drive you. You're too busy posting here with 164,000 post. Do you have any spare time for anything????????

Also, don’t pass me in the right lane and cut me off to get in front when I’m clearly behind another vehicle. Don’t make me brake or have to ride 1 car length behind the person in front of me on the interstate just so you won’t cut me off

KRETP
It is the law in most southeastern states.
From about 2010 to 2020 I drove a lot in the southeast for work and other….some of my recollections were
- Atlanta - 285 is is a challenge weekdays in the AM and afternoon, some super-aggressive drivers fly through heavy traffic, got to keep that head on a swivel
- Baton Rouge - I10, I12 were badly congested on weekdays, was weird how it would build up and then just go away in different areas
- Montgomery- I85, I 65 - would back up in the afternoons at rush hour, recall seeing a lot of jerks trying to merge late when 3 lanes reduced to 2 lanes
- Birmingham-280 backed up ridiculously anywhere close to rush hour and they never tried to fix it, super frustrating, I20, 459, I65 could be a bear, but not as bad as Atlanta
-I10 all the way from Texas to Jacksonville FL - there were sections on this interstate that were terrible, mismatched concrete sections that were like, chunk,….chunk,….chunk,….I always dreaded a car breaking down and just stopping in the interstate or a traffic accident backing up I10 and you would lose hours on a trip
But I digress and I departed from the topic at hand….
The vast majority of people I saw that camped, out in the left lane gave the appearance of being entitled a$$holes that were either on their social media, or wanted to prove they could do what they pleased and to hell with everyone else. I would often give them hand signals letting them know what I thought…..one guy on 285 in ATL did not appreciate my hand signals and wanted me to pull over so that he could discuss it with me, I did not oblige him….

No matter how fast you are driving in the left lane on interstate 12 or 10 near BR, someone will be riding your bumper in a matter of seconds.
