It’s pointless for a lot of grad programs, and the most annoying test to study for. I know it’s about the preparation, but honestly I couldn’t care less about high school geometry and words that are rarely used. They just need to do away with it all together imo.

My own personal journey:

ACT fee
College application fee
College tuition
Textbooks
Parking fees
Student life fees
Computer lab fees
LSAT fees
Law school application fees
Law school tuition
More textbooks
More fees
Diploma fees
Cap and gown fees
Bar exam registration fees
Laptop fees
Annual bar membership fees
Annual CLE requirement fees

Everything surrounding education is about the money. Everybody at every level is taking their pound of flesh - death by 1000 cuts.

It’s a business. Whatever hoops and bullshite they’re making you jump though is 95% about justifying their existence and keeping the gravy train rolling.

If you are complaining about the cost of becoming and remaining an attorney you are doing it wrong.

OK, if you tell me you are a water walker like a PD, or run/work for a pro bono clinic this doesn't apply but if not I am willing to bet everything surrounding your practice is about the money.

I wanted to do MBA but didn’t think I was going to go so I settled for Econ which didn’t require a score and past test date. MBA would probably have been easier.
