Call the prison, tell them to block your number. I'm pretty sure they can do it. Always heard those calls were pretty expensive.

Scam
This is the answer I was looking for. When in doubt, I assume someone is trying to scam me. I have not accepted a single one of those calls. After reading that link, I will be checking the phone bill closely.

Not married. No girlfriend. Though I appreciate that this line of thought is probably the most entertaining.

As was said, it's a scam. Some PBX/Key systems can be spoofed so that after they make an incoming collect call attempt, they can get outgoing dial tone by hanging on and hitting certain key combinations.
You should first have someone check your phone billing records for suspect calls (write down the date and times that they call).
The prison should block your bank of numbers or you may have to get your own equipment tech to defeat their getting an outgoing dial tone.

Sorry bro there isn't much to do in here

Once a month makes me think it's probably an area code issue. I would guess you have the same number as a lawyer or something in another location. The odds of people constantly making the exact same dialing error seems slim.

Yep, dated a chick in college who was getting those calls at her apartment almost every time I was there. Crazy chic had 3 different guys calling from prison, and she'd talk to the for 1/2 hour each time. It ended up being an ex boyfriend who was doing 10 years, and two of his friends that stole the number from him

If I was you, you better get your phone number changed and pray to God that they don't know where you live once they're released. Apparently some dude that you came into contact with thought that you were hot. Do you remember any guys that you gave your phone number to? It could be a guy who tended your lawn, an ex neighbor etc. Just be sure to be careful because if this guy has your phone number, he knows who you are and where you live. This same crap happened to a woman in Montgomery a couple of years ago. She was raped four times and then her throat was sliced. The convict used to call her all of the time and he got her number from a cellmate. If I was you. I'd get a new phone and number. Just give this information to only your family. Who knows how many of your coworkers, acquaintances, know somebody who is incarcerated. Please change your number and keep it private. Apparently somebody in that jail knows who you are and this person may look you up after he is released. I wish you the best, but I'd call the cops if the calls persist,

Someone in another state also won a $100 million lottery. Yet I have still never purchased a lottery ticket.

I updated the original post with follow-up. Apparently it does not bump to the top unless I write a new post, so consider this a bump for the update to my original post.
