I agree 100% about legalization.

As for being subjected to smoke, there have been time periods when I've been subjected to cigarette smoke on a daily basis. I'm not kidding. I had a job last year with a company that was starting a new operation making a variety of products related to COVID. There were a group of workers that would smoke right at the entrance of the warehouse every day, multiple times a day. I told them if they didn't stop I was going to quit. I've got a lot of anecdotes like that. Even the brief occasions become common when you're in downtown areas and other areas where smokers suck their poison.

I've never had these kinds of issues with people smoking cannabis.

The amount of damage alcohol causes the human body is beyond anything weed does. Ingesting weed in edible form is far safer than smoking weed and drinking alcohol. Drinking alcohol has far worse effects.

Could be true but the fact is that we don’t have enough info to know if you’re right or not about weed. Alcohol is clearly damaging to the body but not enough info on weed.

And here’s the other thing. There’s like only 2 people in the world that ONLY do weed. Everyone else does weed and alcohol and even other stuff. People who like to get wasted, get wasted.

So the comparison of the two is a silly argument.

Neither should be legal for health reasons but insofar as freedom to screw up your own health, have at it but please spare us the health benefits of weed.

Alcohol use doesn't affect others? Tell that to the people killed by drunk drivers.

A question based purely on my ignorance. Do we know if a person’s driving ability can be diminished by marijuana ingestion to the point of their being an “impaired” driver?
To the point of killing a carload of people riding in their vehicle or riding in another vehicle?
How do we know one way or the other? What’s “over the limit” vis a vis marijuana?

I’ve seen drivers put through driving maneuvers sober, then one beer, then two beers, and so on demonstrating the clear connection between alcohol ingestion and impaired driving. Has serious testing been done in this manner respecting marijuana?

Moderate pot smokers' lung function better than nonsmokers

Alcohol is far worse in terms of impairment. The level of impairment will be dependent on tolerance level.

I wouldn't suggest someone drive impaired, but there's not much of an effect for someone with a high tolerance. But, eating cannabis may be different for some and cause more impairment.

that smoking the crap actually can affect other people while alcohol does not?

All you have to do is ban smoking in public.

Somebody smoking in private, or simply carrying marijuana does not harm you. Why do you hate freedom?

You're assuming that people who smoke weed are as trashy and inconsiderate as people who smoke cigarettes

From my experience they are, plus a helluva lot goofier and more annoying afterwards.

I’ve never touched weed in my life - to me it’s trashy and smells like wet arse. It’s not just the smoke - vehicles and rooms and clothing smell like it afterwards and it stinks. But hey, to each their own.

I’ve been around plenty, although self-admittedly, I avoid it when at all possible. All of my friends smoked so it was pretty hard not to be around it.

I mean he obviously had one clear question

You just said it depends on the tolerance for each which I guess is technically an answer

There are a lot of things can can lead to an impaired driver that has nothing to do with weed or alcohol.

You not getting enough sleep the night before makes you "impaired".

An estimated 16.5 percent (one in six) of fatal crashes, 13.1 percent (one in eight) of crashes resulting in hospitalization, and 7 percent (one in fourteen) of all crashes in which a passenger vehicle is towed involve a drowsy driver.

Younger drivers age 16-24 were nearly twice as likely to be involved in a drowsy driving crash as drivers age 40-59.

Two out of three drivers involved in a drowsy driving crash were men.

Fair enough. But it’s not some sort of instant mind eraser that makes you an immediate threat to society

This inability to have a conversation over real topics from whatever side one may side on is why we are in this current social and political climate..

People have forgotten how to debate and come to mutual agreements.. Its all name calling and my way or the highway mentality today.. But thats a whole other seperate discussion altogether..

Well he's also spouting off legit refer madness bullshite.

Never claimed that. I honestly couldn’t care less, as long as it doesn’t affect me.
