Your arrest record begs to differ.
And that post certainly isn't helping.

Your arrest record begs to differ.
Be being forward another being arrested for simple possession when I was admittedly young and immature makes me trashy. I paid all my dues to society and petitioned the courts for the restoration of my rights.
All trashy. I guess you have never made a mistake.?
So I guess the rest of my family that had a puttbull living in their house that they helped raise are also trashy?

Not saying you or your family are trashy, but thinking that owning a pit bull is a good idea certainly makes it more statistically likely that someone is trashy.

No wonder you turned out to be a criminal. I don't blame you. You never stood a chance.

Again, wasn't talking about you specifically.
Just like eating fast food every day statistically makes you more likely to have a heart attack but doesn't guarantee one, owning a pit bull is not a great idea, but it can work out fine.
The bad part is, like a heart attack, someone usually dies when it goes wrong.

My dad had a pit and I was happy to see it die 8 months ago. Never trusted it around my children. Now he has a Dogo Argentino and it is a monster. Six months old and up to about 80 lbs already. For what he paid for the damn dog he could have bought most any other breed he wanted. I don't voice my opinion of how I feel about it to him and it wouldn't do any good anyway.

It's just sad that people have taken the breed that isn't one of the most loyal to their families and have taken them and breed them to have the size and strength to be killers and then truely trashy people have gravitated towards them and half arse raised them and treated them like shite, putting them on chains and stuff when they don't know a god damn thing about raising s dog, much less one so powerful and so loyal.
Seriously their loyalty is part of their downfall. The dogs truely truely love people and their owners so much that even if mortally wounded they will still be obeying orders and protecting their owner from other animals.
My dog was 13 years old and I'm jnoy joking when I say I never ever once heard him bark or growl out of any sort of anger. Actually his only bark EVER was af the vacuum cleaner

yeah, lots of people buy dogs for sporting activities
some do, but come on now.. the large majority are getting dogs to simply be pets and companions

they also don't seem very smart
fact
they need homes and mainly pieces of shite breed the poor dogs.. I got one at 5 weeks old who otherwise may have been euthanized or raised in a terrible environment.. the dog doesn't have the intelligence of many other breeds but he was properly socialized around both people and many other animals, and he is an all around awesome dog

My sister in law has two of them. My son has never been to her house since she got them. Not my place to tell her what dog she can have, although I think there is no place for them, but it is my job to keep my kids safe from them.

With all the dog breeds out there, why take the risk?
I don't get it either.

Y'all just don't get it apparently. Here is how this went for me:
1.) recognize the fact i want a dog
2.) not going to purchase as that is ridiculous and too many other dogs need homes
3.) vet friend informs me of a new mother rescue and babies up for adoption (vet friend also said it's people who raise the dogs to be mean and not the breed)
4.) I adopt the dog because what the hell happens to them if no one does
It's worked out wonderfully. The dog plays with other dogs both small and big and has never even once growled at one another dog. My nieces were raised around him and dressed him up as a girl regularly and painted his nails. He goes swimming with them all the time and plays in the pool. He is obedient and trained enough to earn his voice and sight tags to be off leash in Boulder. He's a great dog because he had a great and proper upbringing.

i had a buddy that rescued pits, and got him a Dogo. they were all great dogs until the Dogo showed up. Super possessive and protective of him. To the point he had to stay in it's cage when strangers were around.
beautiful dogs, but leave them to guard junk yards

Aren't you in Boulder? I'm surprised they haven't banned the breed yet.
