Why do people feel the need to ruin things?

The older I get, the more I want a country club city where everyone understands the base rules and we don't have to live with 'clever' (scam artists) who force you to always have your defenses up. If you're caught being 'clever' you lose your right to live with us.
i.e. People who buy up a ton of supplies before a storm, and then return it all after the storm passes and they didn't need it.
This time it's AirBnB hosts. I've used Airbnb for probably six or seven years and it was great. But now the last year or so I've turned back to hotels because of all the bullshite. The site is now littered with people putting in hidden fees to jack up the price while they advertise a much lower price.
i.e. You see $70/night.....but after you try to book you see a $250 cleaning fee and $100/night weekend surcharge.
Does anyone really want to be neighbors with people whose mind's operate this way? Unscrupulous people always trying to trick/scam people.
Looking for a weekend get away for my GF Bday, and ran across an $18/night 6 bedroom lake house. It made me uninstall the app as I'm tired of having to do my due diligence on every option to figure out which ads are legit and which are "got'em" type shite bags.

Must be near Camp Crystal Lake.

It’s really not that hard to check all the fees before booking. You wanna throw a $250 cleaning fee? Return to home and keep looking.

This represents a half assed manifesto and your struggle to adapt to the world around you.
People like you clean out Walmart's with assault rifles.

For criminals we have laws to remove them.
I'm talking about the people that you have to make rules for because all they do is try to figure out a way to frick other people.

I agree. It’s really annoying about the fees and add-ons.
HomeAway, VRBO, are the same.

I spent an average of like 50 bucks a night traveling through Europe with Airbnb last year.
It was quite cool

And that airline that posts rates $100 less than other airlines, but then charges you $75 for a backpack and $100 for a carry on.
Other airlines dont operate that way, but there's enough people who fall for the scam because they choose the low cost trip w/o reading the fine print.
Think of it as building codes, you can operate a business but it has to be within parameters. hidden fees, bait and switch stuff should be an automatic loss of citizenship get the frick out.

Whenever we are going to the beach I always search condos on VRBO.
Once I find a place I like I just search the address on Google, and then book it through the realtor site directly.
It was about $350 (literally) cheaper for the one we have booked in May.
I can't stand stupid fees.

because they still have shame/fear of judgement unlike our "husslin" I so smart I ripped these people off under caveat emptor shyster justifications.

If you want to come to the North Carolina mountains you get in touch with me and I'll let you rent my house up there at a reasonable rate. No games, no hidden fees.
But you really need to calm down a little bit.

I'm right there with you.
I've also gotten more vocal about calling people out for it. Some just shrug and say "that's life". Those people are sheep.
For example, this person does what everyone around him tells him to do:

They're not worse than people who want everything cheap and feel entitled.
I'm thrifty, but a guy has to make a living too.

Yeah I'm not exactly sure how these enablers justify themselves. the motivation for a better world is what brought our ancestors here. Puritan work ethic, taxation without representation, etc...... but now we need to tolerate bad stuff and adapt to it versus working to make a better fricking world and removing the small percentage of people who frick it up.
even in the worst ghettos it's only maybe one third of the people who are actually bad the other 66% are affected by all the bad shite that those 33% do.
I often wonder if every felon were forced to leave the country What would ghettos be like in just 10 to 15 years. where the children don't see they catch and release felon selling drugs over and over and over again. all of a sudden the only people that are left are decent people and the ghetto becomes not a ghetto anymore

The gratuitous creation of statistics is a 22% upcharge at my mountain house. Just telling you upfront.

1/3 black men have been arrested for a felony and served prison time... that's where I pulled the 33%.
If ghettos were free of all/most of the people who commit felonies... would they still be ghettos....or with the negative stereotypes slowly go away and remove many of the barriers that keep ghettos ghettos

So who do you expect to clean up after you? You realize owners hire third party cleaning services for this, right?
