Why do I see the same items under different branding on Amazon?

I feel like I see this all the time where it's obviously the exact same item but with a different brand name on it. Currently searching for hydration packs and there are 3 that are exactly the same under different companies. I'm assuming the companies all just order from the same Chinese factory?

Your "store brand" item like half and half, is often the exact thing as another store's "Store brand"

I am telling you. I have said this for awhile and everyone thinks I am crazy. Amazon is a scam. I had an experience with deodorant and some other products that I order off of Amazon. It was a certain brand, but the quality was awful. When I got the pack of deodorant, it was supposed to be gel, but it was more water based. All 6 in the pack. Thought it was just a bad pack and bought another pack again when I needed to restock.. Same exact thing.

Had a similar experience with toothpaste. I don't use Amazon anymore..

Tons of competing products are made by same manufacturer and marketed under different brands to create competition.
