Any financial success over 10 million is considered excessive to these people. They want their fair share.
It's a philosophy of jealousy and greed masked as altruism and a desire for "justice".

Ok? Again, I was addressing the country being discussed. Context matters.

You assumed from a sentence directed towards the subject matter at hand I’ve never taken World History or read about countries outside of the US? That’s a bold assumption, baw.
What the frick is your problem?

It’s gotten much worse. The instant gratification society we’ve created with social media is partially to blame.

Except for the whole topic of discussion in this thread
It's right there in the title

Money and influence have always been a part of history, so focusing on it as if it’s uniquely American and not human isn’t logical

It’s not just America. Not saying we aren’t corrupt by any means cause we definitely are. But we’re not anywhere near as corrupt as a lot of third world countries. Go to places in Africa, Asia and Central America/South America. They’re straight up controlled by the elite few families with money.

Money is what makes the world go round.

Money brings power. This has always been true and isn't exclusive to America.
Been true since money/wealth was a thing thousands of years ago

I don't think it's gotten much worse. I think people just have way more access to information now and see how things work. For all of social medias ills I think the democtrization of information has been good for people

Don't get upset with me because you said something stupid.
The point is this is not unique to America and the OP needs to understand this is a world wide issue not an American issue.

It’s not stupid. Was literally a colloquialism about America, which we were discussing.

You again make the assumption that people don’t understand that. You think people aren’t familiar with things like British aristocracy? Dutch East India Company?
You’re out here calling people stupid when you make some stupid assumption to try to play gotcha.

I have quite a few ideas about what I would do with that much money.

I'm more concerned as to why George Floyd is considered a leftist hero.
11 people downvoted your post but a few years ago on a quick stop in DC, I saw a giant assed mural of George Floyd and Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

oddly enough....this isn't even the one I'm talking about.
