there are two C17 Globemasters sitting out at BTR on the south ramp right now. One is used to stow the presidential motorcade, the other is used to stow Marine 1.

No such word as theirselves.

Per the advocate

Obama flew into Omaha, Nebraska on his usual 747 and left there for Baton Rouge on the smaller plane.

I haven't read through all of the responses, so apologies if it was already said.

I was told the 757 was used because the runway used in Omaha was being repaired and couldn't handle the 747. Because POTUS flew directly from Omaha to Baton Rouge, he arrived via 757.

Regardless, as many people were calling this 757 AF2, it is indeed AF1 as any aircraft that POTUS is on is AF1.

Unless it is a Navy plane, then it is Navy 1 (when Bush flew onto an
Aircraft carrier)

So even Obama admits the road to Omaha starts in New Orleans

there were 2 either C-5's or c-141 starlifters at the airport yesterday.

Highly doubtful. The C-5 is extremely unreliable and breaks all the time. The C-141 has been retired and out of the inventory for quite some time.

Most likely C-17s.

they routinely fly into Barksdale AFB...I think they at least have a 12,000 foot runway.

Slightly shorter than 12K'. I haven't flown in a little over a year (desk job right now), but if memory serves it is 11,756'.

Marine 1.

At one time the Presidential helicopter squadron was a composite Army-Marine unit, so there was occasionally an Army 1.

I think it's been established that they were globemasters. I guess it shows how much I've kept up with things
