The place cost $128M to build, owners owed $124M and sold it two months after foreclosure for $80M. I can't understand how a bank would loan that much money for something in Shreveport that isn't a casino.

Why can't Baton Rouge have a 'Boardwalk'... along the river like Shreveport has.

Because the Mississippi fluctuates in level by 30ish feet throughout the year?

I think Bass Pro and the movie theater are the only tenants that are going to be there long term.

Now, Shreveport wants to develop the area just north of downtown that borders Cross Bayou.

I wish the city would look back into the Audubon Alive project.

North or south of twelve mile bayou? Horrible idea. Would cost a fortune.

If you want to pay for it with private funds, go right ahead. Don't make me pay for it with taxes though.

I hope I am wrong becuase I do enjoy SBC but it will be a disaster. There is just no good middle ground that Shreveport can support on that big of a scale i.e. Boardwalk. Can't go too high end and can't go too cheap.

Monroe has a nice one. Nobody uses it. But it's nice. For Monroe.

The boardwalk in Bossier looked amazing and really still does but I wouldn't put a penny in anything like that.

I could be wrong, but isn't this being replaced by the big one out off of Gardere?

Yep. If I were an investing man, I would be buying up blighted properties between LSU and downtown, especially along Nicholson and River Road.

I don't think Perkins Rowe is in any danger of failing.

Everybody knows what the problem is in BR, but people are scared to say for fear of being called a racist.
