Very neat. I have not seen that before. A family friend owns the company that did all of the dive work for the nugget in Lake Charles. Very interesting and impressive engineering.

Captain must live on the boat and be there at all times. A friend deals poker at boomtown and said the captain makes over 100k a year to captain a boat that never leaves port

They boats don't move but they are in charge of things like keeping the boats up, USCG inspections etc. They are "vessels" so they have to all be trained in firefighting, have drills etc. Tons of paperwork to go along as well. He still is in charge and can found held liable if there is an equipment fire or something on board.

No shite? I've been to Lauberge once, but didn't realize it was actually a boat.
I’ve stayed at both and was at GN last week. It’s impossible to tell they aren’t sitting on terraferma.

Lauberge Baton Rouge asked to be able to continually pump MS river water in a pipeline over the levee to the dry side of it to form a pond that was filled with river water to meet the requirement, but that didn't pass so they went coffer dam inside the levee.

NOLA's like a sovereign island. Louisiana law doesn't always apply, thank heavens.
