with all of the associated nerves and risks to your health and heart if you have bad teeth I'm not sure I'm following you there.

Strictly an insurance ploy to get as many premium dollars as possible with separate deductibles.

I'm a dentist. Here's the answer.
Nearly everyone want to AVOID using medical insurance. No one wants to be I'll.
Dental insurance carriers know that if they gave you $10,000 instead of $1,000 yearly, MANY PEOPLE would use alot of it. They simply dont want to shell out one penny more than they have to.

Because the dental lobby is better than the physician lobby, which had sold out to help itself than the physician who formed it.
Dentists are not stupid and realize when government starts insuring dentistry is the day dentistry does crash.

OP is wrong as vision is separate also. Given that, it’s probably cheaper to break them up. If Medical has to insure EVERYONE for dental it would be more expensive. Plus, I pay cash for my dentist as it’s considerably cheaper. My dentist has a self insurance plan that’s like $300/ year that includes cleanings, xrays, and like 10% off any major work which is laughable as I don’t know the cost either way so all he has to do is Jack it up.
