Socialization, they absorb information, stimulation, etc.

All are thousands of dollars cheaper than Disney World.

ETA:

I would say the same thing about bringing a tiny child to Europe or something similar.

Sounds fun.

You sure about that, Clark?

I don't care if other people go to Disney World. Vacationing families are good for our economy and to each his own.

Just saying the reasons I won't ever go.

And I am no fun-sucking negative nancy.

My wife and I did the Dopey challenge in January. Been planning since it was first announced but had to wait for year 2 since it's such an expensive add-on. We had a kid in the meantime. He was just over a year when we went. I had no delusions as to how much he could experience or how much he would enjoy it. But we understood that the trip wasnt for him. So we brought along my wife's whole family including her grandparents who will probably never be able to go again. Having them there to experience my son's first meet with Mickey (who he recognized from Mickey Mouse Club House) was amazing. Made the whole trip worth it.

My little girl is 5 and I promise you che can recount the trip in better detail than I can. My son is only 7 months, but the trip wasn't for him. That being said, he recognized the characters and freaked out at Breakfast as Chef Mickey's when the characters came out

You don't remember things from when you were 5? That's when my parents took me, and I remember lots of things. Others came back to me when we were there last week

I was 7 first time I went. I remember the hotel (Dixie Landing - now Port Orleans Riverside), Hoop-dee-doo Review, not being able to ride Space Mountain, and mickey ice cream bars.

I was 5 during the World's Fair in New Orleans

most faint of memories from that experience, and I think most of those come from stories told to me over the years

While ymmv, the pics from the trips always make my kids light up. Some are framed and lots more flash on the led picture frame.

You can't go back to capture those moments but they become lifetime memories when the pics are there to reinforce great family times.

I remember being scared to ride space mountain, seeing a space shuttle launch, the splashes of cannonballs on pirates of the Caribbean, etc.

My daughter is 3, and she's been to Disney 3 times so far (and going again this year). She remembers a lot from the trips, especially her interactions with the princesses. They way her face lit up when she got to hug and talk to them was priceless. Will she remember that years from now? I don't know, but I really don't care. In that moment, it was worth every penny and my memories from it will last a lifetime.

I'll also say that we didn't push her to the limits when we were there. We'd wake up and swim in the pool/play at a playground. Then after her afternoon nap, we'd go to Disney and stay pretty late. Zero meltdowns.
