Well this is a college message board so a lot of people only lived here to go to college and those are gonna be the one’s that rag the state. At least when I’ve read through the weekly La bashing threads on here it’s quite a bit of I’m glad I only lived there in college type remarks. Most of us know our problems, I’ve never seen anyone get offended by someone calling out La problems as long as it was in a respectful way. Hell I went on a date with a girl once and when I asked her what her first impression of Louisiana was she stated it was like a 3rd world country lol.

I think it has to do with something like 96% of the population of Louisiana lives their entire life here, which I think might be the highest of any state in the nation. This place is "home", where everyone you know and love and all the good things that go with it are located. When you point out the glaring problems LA has, mostly in a mocking kind of tone, people see you shitting on their "home". It's a blessing and a curse. I love that Louisiana is more than just a checklist of good schools, big companies, well priced houses etc. for which people tend to cite relocating. It's what also keeps this place from getting better in many areas.

Those definitely exist, but there's also some like me who lived there for 26 years, but apparently because I moved away I'm not supposed to care about LA anymore.
