Personally I just want pot legalized, I prefer that to drinking. The other stuff, I care less about, that said I think legalization and treatment are the answers, not arrests and ruining lives.

Because people are easily brainwashed into believing freedom will lead to a shitty society, so they prefer the nanny state.

they should arrest fatasses who bring their kids to McDonalds. That's more harmful to society than drugs or prostitution.

Come one, man. You can't act like the drugs didn't have any hand in altering their mental state
Of course they do. Why people do them. Alcohol is the number one drug in any country and causes more issues than any other drug. You can die from alcohol related with drawls.. That weed is illegal is a fricking joke. Portugal legalized all drugs and their crime rate has plummeted and users have gone down. Tax it, get more prison room for the real criminals, free up the judicial system.
It is a win on all fronts.

Do you think marijuana use has gone up, down, or stayed level in Colorado since it's legalization?
ignoring tourists, i bet the increase is less than 10% and will go down over time as it loses its novelty.
From the Denver Post....
quote:
As marijuana legalization took hold in Colorado, the estimated percentage of regular cannabis users in the state jumped to the second-highest level in the country, according to new federal data.
When asked, roughly one out of every eight Colorado residents over the age of 12 reported using marijuana in the previous month. Only Rhode Island topped Colorado in the percentage of residents who reported using marijuana as frequently.
quote:
Monthly use in Colorado jumped to 12.7 percent — a 22 percent increase — in the 2012-13 data. The result means the survey estimates about 530,000 people in Colorado use marijuana at least once a month.
quote:
"The fraction of people who are monthly users who are in fact daily users has gone way, way up," Kleiman said.
Monthly marijuana use increased across all age groups in Colorado, according to the new survey numbers. The number of people who reported using marijuana in the past year also increased in Colorado in the 2012-13 data, but the state ranked only sixth nationally in the measurement. Measurements for alcohol consumption and illicit drug use increased, as well.
But on the other hand it also says this...
quote:
This month, a different federally funded survey found that teen marijuana use had not increased nationally, despite marijuana legalization. A Colorado survey released this year found no increase in marijuana use by high schoolers in 2013.

I have no problem with legal pot and I think that Colorado shows us two things.
1. Legalizing a drug will increase it's use.
2. Legalizing pot has had no adverse effect on society as a whole in Colorado nor has it caused an increase in teen drug use.
But having said that, drugs like meth are nothing like pot.

Of course not. Alcohol makes weed look like fricking Romper Room.

i'd use drugs all the time if not for the random testing at the job sight.
not to mention the risk involved.
one time i saw a guy break his back.
but those mother frickers made him take a drug test after all that.
a little sympathy here...
where are we at in society today?

I don't think either pot nor alcohol should be illegal.

a little sympathy here...
even if they are able to develop a reliable on-the-spot thc intoxication test, they'll probably continue to do what i described because it saves them money.

I used to do drugs. I still do, but I used to too.

i should have clarified.
the man is a father of five and is straight as an arrow.
its just crazy i guess.
of course he was clean but he was forced to retire a lot earlier as you might imagine.
i just remember the union rep asking around about him b/c he liked to have a drink every now and then.
never met a dock worker that didn't drink in my whole time on the ports.
its just bullshite to me.
