Just had to come in here and laugh because I was in the store yesterday and was behind a guy wearing an affliction shirt with baggy cargos about five inches below his knees and of course flat bill hat on sideways. He was all about 5'4" and about 145-155 lbs. Definitely had little man syndrome and thought he was gods gift

Well said and I agree with your post. It's not the clothes, but the man.

Which we all might agree, begs the question: what does it say about a man that desires to wear clothing that makes such a statement, with skulls, angel wings, and dark pseudo-religious imagery?

Thanks. I'll hang up and listen.

The T's I can seriously do without, but that's but a portion of their clothing, clothing that I might add is very well made, nicely cut and fits a bit more tailored than most clothing you find out there that fits more like a box, which is why a lot of people who wear it like it. Of course there are plenty who want the image shite, but others just like the look that the cut and feel gives them. The branding shite is a bit overboard, and I have absolutely no desire to have that shite on my body, mostly because it would look retarded on someone my age, but the button downs and some of their pull overs are very nice, as well as some of the less obtrusive designs. They don't fit people with a gut though, and so that's really why I think you find a lot of people hating on that type of clothing. For some it's the branding and fear of being identified in a group not very well accepted in places like the South, and BR for sure, but for others I really think they're a little ticked with the way it makes their gut stand out.

Seems like to me the last 3 or 4 years the affliction movement has died down. Don't see as many people wearing even graphic t shirts anymore like in 2009 time frame.

Thanks Mike. Honestly, I've never explored the brand enough to know all of that.

Taylored clothing has it's place, but there is some over-tayloring out there.

Basic t-shirts have mostly become tighter and with shorter and shorter sleeves.

I fill out a shirt fairly well, even in my mid-40's, but absolutely do not like tight shirts that look like one is "trying too hard" whether it's the fitting or the imagery.

But that's just my preference.

Like everything, I'm sure it can be taken to the extreme, but I'd say it beats having your crotch down toward your knees and wearing old man's baggy, boxed, one size fits all trousers, or shirts that are a size too big, aren't tapered and look just like the box they're placed in. I think I just value quality clothing that fits me, and nice clothing that have stylish patterns and fabric, intensifies features rather than looks sloppy and I don't give a shite, or an old fart who just threw in the towel on how he looks long ago. If you look around, that's what you see most prominent in people's attire, and I personally just don't want to go in that direction. Thirty more years, and maybe I'll throw in the towel and break down on some dockers, cargo shorts, polos, and white tennis shoes. Maybe throw in some black socks and open toe sandals to keep it real and shite.

I prefer the snugger fit and shorter sleeves for T's and short sleeve button downs. I do think that it can be a bit too tight, but a snug fit makes me look a lot more proportioned than the one size fits all stuff, or the sloppy fitting clothes which I despise on me. I think it just depends on what you feel more comfortable in.

The issue I have with all this nonsense isn't in what you wear or don't wear, but people who size people up strictly by what they wear, ignoring themselves of course, and never just giving people the benefit of the doubt and talking to them to see what kind of person they really are. Its also in being scared to wear something based solely on what people will think of them rather than if they like it or not. Many will deny that's at play, but they know it really is. It's pretty sophomoric if you want to know the truth of the matter, and pretty pathetic.

When you're ready to just let it go and keep it real, you'll want to add a pair of Rockports to your wardrobe

Popular thing to hate on, that's all. Kind of like folks who hate those who wear jerseys. Or cargo shorts. Etc.

Some people who wear jerseys and cargo shorts are just dorks. Pretty common dress up north, which you can't really fault them for (but we should continue to berate them anyway).

You don't end up at a bar in torn jeans and an affliction or ed hardy shirt because you're dorky and don't know how to dress appropriately. You have to make a conscious decision to be a douchebag.
