When he was a kid, he grew up in the same house with his grandfather. That man fought in the Civil War on the side of the Confederacy. He was captured and paroled, and walked 200 miles home when he was 15.
There is a family picture of my oldest uncle, as a toddler, sitting on the lap of his great grandfather (my great, great, grandfather). The picture was taken in 1929, shortly before the grandfather's death. He was a Confederate veteran of Vicksburg.
When my uncle showed me that picture, I was blown away.

By the end of my life, my answer will be Tiger Woods, Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer all at the same time.
I'm waiting for one of our older members to say Babe Ruth lol. Cuz that would be my answer.

It's almost as if time somehow got distorted.

Two of my great grandmothers lived into their 100's. One was born in 1886 and died in 1989 when I was 18. The other was born in 1892 and died in 1994 when I was 23.
In their lifetime they witnessed the invention of the automobile, the airplane, radio and tv, as well as space travel. It always amazes me when I think of that and the other many things that happened during their lifetime and the fact that I was old enough to know them and talk with them about these things.

Had a great aunt born in 1895 and died in 2001 at 106. That old woman told me some shite and just breezed through the 1900’s.
