atheists are like that couple you know when they are 18-19 and they just discovered what sex is and they act like they have found out something the rest of the world does not know. lol take a theology /philosophy class or finally read the god delusion by richard dawkins and think they know the answers of the world.lol no one in here was bothering atheists. atheists have a need for you to not believe to validate their non belief. i don't care what you do or don't do

My church celebrated Jesus and the resurrection. Sounds like you need to find another church

Irony right there.

I don't care either. If your happy with your life of faith, good for you. I'm happy with mine. Who cares.

So why do you feel the need to insult others for their beliefs by posting stuff like this?

quote:

Religion is for weak minded and naive people who are either too stupid to realize how ridiculous it is, or too afraid to face the reality that they will simply no longer exist when they die.

I just enjoy the conversation. There's is something completely fascinating about the evolution of religion. More specifically I want to know how the hell the light-skinned blue-eyed Jesus came to be when he was born in a town that borders Israel, Jordan and Syria.

Prayer is exercised individually and with others. Worship as well. Most of the New Testament is letters written by Church leadership to be read to groups of Christians meeting together weekly. If you can't see the practice, imperative, tradition, and value of regular corporate worship you are working hard to maintain your ignorance.

Get your panties out of a wad and grow a pair. I didn't insult anyone. I gave my opinion about how I feel about today's organized religion. If you don't like it, go pray for me.

But you did insult someone......everyone that has a religious belief actually. You called us "weak minded and naive". I would say that is an insult.

I have atheist friends. They don't feel the need to use their beliefs(or technically lack of) to be insufferable assholes to others. Maybe you could learn a thing or two from them.

I don't even know what the definition of an atheist is, yet I'm an assumed a-hole atheist b/c I think religion is dumb.

And if you took it as an insult, then oh well. That's how I feel. I still have zero problem with you or anyone practicing religion. Do what makes you happy.
This is an internet message board. It's not like I show up at churches calling everyone idiots.

I think that evangelical atheists are as annoying as you do, but let's not pretend them being vocal is any different than vocal christians.

I must have scrolled through 50 "He Is Risen" posts on social media when I woke up this morning. Nobody bats at eye at that. But someone says something leaning the opposite way, and you have a 10+ page thread going.

The thing is, about christianty that atheists don't realize, is that god requires you to spread the word.

There is a famous southern gospel song called "I don't want no rocks". one of my fav songs actually LINK

if i don't
praise the lord
the rocks are
going to cry out

i don't want don't want no rocks
rocks crying out in my place

now if you aren't properly "churched" lol this song makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.

When jesus came to Jerusalem for passover, Jesus told everyone to spread the news that he was coming and that the prophesies in the old testament would be realized and if they did not do so the rocks in the sand would cry out and do so in their place (Luke 19:40).

A quiet christian on easter is not a Christian. It's our jobs as christians to spreads the word that Jesus died on the cross for our sins in particular today. Your life and how you live should be a living testimony, but on this day in particular it's required by Christians to spread the word, literally.

Athiests on the other hand, are just being pricks for the sake of being pricks. I don't pick arguements with people who don't share the faith. I do my part and move on. I don't tell people who are that they are going to hell I'm not god how the hell would I know?

You get an athiest and they want to pull out every god delusion chapter there is to dispute faith lol I can argue against faith better than damn near every atheist.

And a word of advice athiest, the arugement you want to go with is that even if god did exist, a god that kills an entire species by drowning them, allows his own people to go into slavery, allows every innocent person in Egypt that is a first born to be killed just to prove a point, a God that outcast the first woman ever because she would not submit to Adam (google lillith), a god that allows the devil to strip a man (job) of his entire family just to prove a point to the devil, is not a god i would want to serve even if he did exist. That is the argument that you should go with.

I too am fascinated by the historical aspect of religion if you can't tell i have an almost encyclopedic knowledge of the bible. One thing I do NOT believe, is that the bible as we know it is the official cannon. I believe there are a lot of books that were left out of the bible for what are extremely human reasons. The book of Enoch, the book of judith, etc. The book of Judas was left out of the offical bible because of politics. I don't trust man to make those types of decisions.
