Who thinks we should send the kids back to school?

I do, but not to finish the year. I think we should get them back to school just to do a overview of the last semester. Start as soon as possible, and go for three weeks. Get them out of the rut most are in and prepare them for the beginning of the next year. It would give them a chance to reconnect with everyone and basically reset the clock for next year.
If you have a senior in high school, everything they were looking forward to is gone. No senior trip, prom, Project Graduation, walking for graduation, all gone.
Not going to happen, but maybe it should.

I don’t know, I’m torn about this but luckily I don’t have kids so what I think doesn’t matter in the slightest.
But we are really risking this thing gaining momentum again if we send 1000 kids intermingling again then bringing that back home to parents that are desperately wanting to get back to work.
I think it’s too soon to send them back but I do feel bad for all the SR’s that are missing out on this very special time. I don’t know, just generally pretty much sucks.
I’m sure as Hell sick of sitting home though, WFH, go for walks and occasionally fishing when they aren’t really biting. Something needs to change.

I have one that’s supposed to be graduating college and another high school. Obviously there won’t be a ceremony which is unfortunate but that’s the hand dealt.

I want things to open back up ASAP and also STAY open, i. e. not have another, even more depressing and damaging, closure.
With that in mind, kids going back to school may be closer to the very last thing we should rush back.

Some districts are considering still holding these events later in the year; in July, if able, or even in November/December when those students come home from College.

My nephew constantly repeats “that’s not fair” unlike his family ( I’m an in-law) my response is “tough shite”. He’s 12 and hasn’t done any work but what I made him when he was at our house. I won’t feel bad next year when he can’t go to ballgames because he has bad grades.
