I have a friend that recently purchased a 2nd home in Boulder. I had no idea the real estate market was that fricking expensive. You can get this 3BR/ 1.5 BA 1725 SF house for $766K.
That's insane. 8' ceilings,carpet throughout...
I didn't see anything under 550K. The most dated interiors you can imagine.

Just moved to Denver. I don’t plan on leaving.
What part of Denver and how does housing compare, hand how did you come to be ok with it?

Price doesn't surprise me. Friend of mine had to pay around $650,000 for a dated ranch-style home in the outskirts of Boulder.

COS checking in. Love it and haven't regretted it.

You're talking about the most expensive housing market in the state. Compare it to the most expensive housing market in LA and while still higher, it won't seem as extreme.
You have much more affordable housing in places like Colorado Springs, Ft. Collins, Longmont, etc.
Besides Boulder is full of hippies and college students, not where I would live as a family coming from the conservative south.

I was stationed in COS 4 years ago. I still own my home there and may end up retiring there. It is great and all of these post are making me homesick for the best place I have ever been stationed.
Now, this board seems to be >97% Colorado biased. I wonder how many have lived in NH or visited. I have not, so it may be great. But do people ever talk about going to NH and wanting to go back. They do about Colorado, this thread is a testament to that.

Moved to Denver last year for work without ever visiting. I don’t see myself leaving Colorado but will definitely move out of Denver in a couple of years though. It’s pretty great here.

We live in Arvada (west of Downtown Denver about 10 min), and we absolutely love it. Boulder is only a 30 minute drive, my ski spot is an hour away to the west,
No way. Gf & I are looking to move there in the next year or so. We took a vacation trip to Denver & checked out dozens of towns and neighborhoods, and Arvada was a favorite. Such quaint, homey feel and nearby so many opportunities for adventure. How’s COL? Any tips in that area?
