Ray Nagin would probably be considered the least corrupt Mayor New Orleans has had in the last 40 years & he is the one who went to jail. It is crazy when you think about it.

I don't really have strong opinions about how anyone from the government performed during/after Katrina, except for that lying pederast Aaron Broussard.
Katrina was an example of bad weather, and not really something the government can do all that much about. That storm exposed the weakness of a lot of people in South Louisiana more than it exposed weakness in any government.

Nagin had a great first term. I proudly voted for him the second term. Things were looking good, then Katrina fricked it all up. Then he lost his mind.

Nagin wasn't even very corrupt by NOLA/Louisiana standards. He just got caught. Even his corruption was just Ray getting a taste for himself. He tried to do some good for NOLA. Latoya is actively trying to destroy it.

Louisiana currently has a collection of horrible mayors the likes of which I have not seen.
So next question, is Latoya worse than Broome? I assume yes but is it at least a close race?
ETA the Shreveport mayor is horrible as well right?

Do not forget that Governor Blanco took her sweet time about activating the National Guard, then asking President Bush for help. Which then turned into them blaming President Bush for not helping, for "You're doin' a fine job, Brownie...."
Much like what is happening in the riot-torn cities, now, it's mayors and governors who have to activate the National Guard, it's not the President's purview, just like Katrina.

Not long ago a group of black kids were in Jefferson Parish burglarizing cars. Deputies from JP chased them back into Orleans and they wrapped their car into an Oak tree in City Park. This upset LaToya who wanted to meet with Sheriff Lopinto about the pursuit and how it violates how things are handled in Orleans. I don’t know if they ever met. But I hope Lopinto told her to kick rocks.
Also LaToya refuses to appear on WWL radio. She only appears on a black radio show hosted by a convicted felon. I guess she is afraid Newell will wipe the floors with her and expose just how dumb she really is.
