Read "The Death of Jack Hamilton" by Stephen King. Short story from Homer Van Meter's pov. A lot in there about Dillinger.

I am not sure if he was ever on their most wanted list or not but I know the FBI looked for the guy for a long time and he was never found.

Edit: I don't believe the news that came out in the last year or so about someone figuring out who he was. I think the dude died when he jumped out of that plane.

Glenn Chambers beat his GF to death in 1975. He was convicted and escaped prison for 3 days after convicted.
He escaped again in 1990 from a small prison about 15 miles down I-4 from Disney. He is still in the wind. He was a member of Mensa, estimated at an IQ of 160-ish, plus. A few years later, somebody thought they saw him working construction in South Alabama, around gulf shores or Orange Beach.
They guess he is hanging around academia, due to his IQ. He also speaks Spanish and knows carpentry and wastewater management. He would be about 67 today.

Reading the true crime thread had me thinking about this dude. I saw an American Greed episode about him recently. Pretty unbelievable that he has evaded capture this long. Very curious where the hell he went considering the lifestyle he likes
