And he did it by going through the old Tough Enough Show where they tried to weed out guys like him.
He also apparently took a lot of shite from the wrestlers when he first came up.
Honestly, though, with Rogan's reach, it's probably Theo Vonn now. He's one of the best guests currently on the podcast circuit and a regular on JRE... Which gets 100M downloads/views a month.
