Tyler Perry or Ellen

Faulkner also spent a lot of time in New Orleans as an adult. Born in Mississippi though

You'd be very surprised, and he has an airport named after him.
There's plenty of airports around the US that are named for someone that I wouldn't have a clue who they were without Google. Lots of former congressmen or local politicians that served before I was born and the only reason I'd ever heard their name was because of the airport.

Most people under 40 that aren't from NOLA probably have no clue who Louis Armstrong is
There was a video of a Japanese guy doing a LA impression on a Japanese talent competition. He's well known all over the world. Peyton Manning is not.

Yes, but I'm from New Orleans. If I wasn't from here, I probably wouldn't know a jazz musician that died before I was born. Its not like jazz is something that kids born in the 80's grew up listening to often

Neither does anyone else. Boy is high if he thinks those two weirdos are more famous than a host of other people

We are talking about New Orleans here.

Not many 5’5 jesuits grads leave the city nor achieve world wide fame

Cool little fact about fats. Back in the day New Orleans radio stations were powerful enough to reach Jamaica. He became the islands favorite musician and is credited with inspiring ska and reggae

Listen to Be my guest and you can hear Reggae in it.

if the skip is in, AM stations can have a far reach, and they were more powerful back then, on some nights I could get(WRNO?) in Shreveport
