Who is stone cold sober tonight?

Not I. I replenished my supply of pain medications the other day, and am now into my sixth hour of playing music, taking an occasional break for coffee or water.
Getting high and playing guitar: life at this moment ist wunderbar.

I'm curious how long did it take you to learn to play guitar. Always wanted to learn.

Self-taught. I wrote my first song about a month after I started.
Self-taught absolutely has its disadvantages, but:
• I was 53 when I first picked up the instrument
• I took up the guitar with the express purpose of writing songs
So ... for me, self-teaching was the fastest way to get where I wanted to be.
I encourage you to start playing. Unlike other instruments, it doesn't take long to become an adequate player--that is, one who gets satisfaction from playing. That's one of the many remarkable features about the guitar.

I'm 38 and have wanted to play since i was a kid listening to classic rock and blues. I thought it might be too late to learn.

Hell no. If you have a guitar, a genuine interest in learning how to play and 5-6 weeks to get started, you're good to go. You'll be playing simple songs in 3 weeks max.

I plan on staying sober tonight. After a week at an all inclusive in Cabo, I need to sober up and chill.
Just got off the plane an out ago and don't feel like drinking. Now that could change in a few hours though and I might open some bourbon.

Cool. Love getting high and listening to music, can't imagine what it would be like high and playing music.
