We were watching Honey, I Shrunk the Kids the other night and there is the scene where Rick is hovering over the grass looking for the kids. The counterbalance for his contraption was a console tv. Made me think how long it’s been since oven seen one of those.

Parents gave me a 13" Magnavox tv for my room when I was 10 years old- still works to this day and I use it for my NES/SNES/VHS which all still work.

I have a VCR/CRT combo that I use to play and digitize VHS tapes with. It still works and looks great.

I have two rack mounting production studio CRT monitors that I keep for vintage video games. I don’t really use them much now that I have an OLED and a good video processor for games, but I keep them around for light gun games anyway

We still have a portable 13" B&W TV on a shelf in the garage. I took it along when meeting a friend at a cabin because he said there was no TV in the cabin. At the time, our girls were around 6 years old. I plugged it in and set it up so they could watch cartoons while we made breakfast. My daughter told me to "fix the TV." It was then that I realized none of them had ever seen a B&W TV before. The looks on their little faces was priceless -- why would anyone make a TV that wasn't in color?

Was there any piece of furniture worse to move than a damn 80's to 00's television?

I have a couple in storage, but none that we use in the house. Every now and then I’ll pull one out and bring it home and hook up an NES or SNES to it.

I think it was about 3 or 4 years ago when we finally got rid of our last tube TV.

In the 90s we had a tube/vcr combo in my mom's Suburban. That was baller status back then. Also had the fade paint.

Got rid of our last one a couple of years ago. It was a struggle to get out of the house. Not gonna lie.

Those things were beasts. This isn't even one of the old wooden consoles either. They lasted for 30 years though like most things from the 70s-90s.

Still have a 35 inch that weighs about 180 pounds and a Zenith console (27inch which was big back then) that still works, although I haven't used it in about 20 years. Can't seem to find a way to get myself to get rid of something that works well.

I have a small one that was in my attic when I bought the house. Haven't taken it down and fired it up though.

36" Sony Trinitron. Would not die. Almost impossible to lift by yourself, backside was rounded. I had to flip it off of its stand onto one those bean bag chairs. I then drug it through the house on a comforter and across yard to the street. Someone picked it up within an hour. Probably still living today.

I still have my first tv-set, which I watched when I was a kid. It had actually been my great-grandmother's, but I got it after her death. It's a black-and-white Zenith set on a stand, with rollers. Seem to recall it being a 1963 model. I watched it throughout the 1970s. Had it in a closet and then the attic for years, but got it out and cleaned it up again about 20 years ago, and was pleased to see that it still worked. I've kept it out ever since, as a sort of display piece.
