Local commercials are interesting when you're traveling. I think so, at least.

The SiruisXM DJs talk way too much, much of it SJW or vaccination nonsense.

Dude, 30% of every hour on FM radio is straight up ads.
Probably another 15% is , whatever you call them , "built in ads", where the DJ or hosts plug a product.
Especially sports radio.

Hip hop radio is at an all time low

94.1 used to slap but they play like the same 5 tracks on an endless loop with the occasional “throwback” (ie a popular one from like 5 years ago)

I honestly thought the day would never come that I'd stop listening to 94.1 and hip hop in general, yet I haven't listened to it in years.

Hell, even popular 102.5 type music I only know the songs I catch out in public. My friends in their late 30s know more popular music than I do. No idea what happened to me.

The ads on the small stations are awesome.

90.3 only has like 3-4 ads on their track thing. One is for a store that sells African garb. Another is for Louie’s Cafe.

Oh and Pocorello’s!

That might be their only 3.

Most radio DJs are too painful to listen to.

Watched Boogie Nights for the first time a couple weeks ago, and it has sent me down a major 70s rabbit hole on Spotify.

Me, and get a taste of local stations.

Lawd have mercy driving through the Mississippi Delta with local AM on and heard black preachers trashing the Democrat Party in Fall of 2020

I put our CD's on a flash drive to listen to since the new cars do not have CD players in them. Even though I just got a free Sirius plan I still listen to the flash drive.

But you are paying for SiriusXM, terrestrial radio is free. If I'm paying for music, I want to hear music, not DJs talking.

I have my iPod hooked up in the car so that's my entire 1000 cd collection available to play.

This is my biggest issue with Sirius. Tom Morello has ruined several stations for parts of the day because he never shuts up.

There is incredible talent out there. Many covers of well-known songs that are actually better than the original IMO, even by foreigners for whom English is a second (or third or fourth) language.

I’m interested. List some examples, please, thanks.

I have some things to do right now but will post a few links later, so check back. What kinds of music do you like? Caberet, Jazz, Blues, Salsa, Rock, Soul, Funk, Metal, Instrumental, Symphonic, Progressive, Ethereal, Club/Dance, and even Elvish?

The sound quality is Xm has always been shite IMO. Sound flat and tinny. Pandora sucks, too.

Both got pros and cons. If alone I turn it to outlaw which is always fresh and has great hosts, never have to turn the channel and no commercials. If my wife is with me though she prefers the highway....you listen for more than 2 hours you'll hear the same Playlist repeat....also if you listen to the highway on a road trip on Friday you'll find the music row happy hour is the worst fricking thing to ever happen to radio....give me over the air over that

I hate commercials. I would sit in silence before listening to them.

I would pay $200 a month for tv if I could avoid all the commercials.

I didn’t think anything could sound worse than MP3 files until I got sirusXM. If it is music I know well I can’t stand to listen to it. The bandwidth is severely compressed, it is like listening to my home sound system while wearing hearing protection.
