Did it a couple of times, many years ago. Not tandem, i.e. me by myself, but when you start that way it's static line, which means you're off the plane and after a few hundred feet of separation, a line attached to the plane pulls the ripcord. It was fun, glad I did it, but not worth the cost etc. to keep at, for me.

Not too long after, she was killed when she was run over by a fire truck responding to an auto accident in which she was involved.

Spaceland south of Houston. Very professional. 13,000’ with one minute freefall. Most adrenaline Ive ever experienced. We both plan on going back soon. We are both 50ish.

I did it on my bachelor party to "conquer" my fear of heights but also assumed i just wasn't meant to be married if i died. Yet here we are...I'm still scared of heights and still married 20 yrs later. Wouldn't do it again but glad I did!

But doing it that way isn't it like 10 jumps then you can go out solo and just regular skydive?

Jumped in Perdido Key and landed on the beach at Florabama. Thought it would be a one time thing, but I wouldn't be opposed to another jump.

I won’t do it because they don’t let one armed men skydive. They would have to tear one of my arms off to get me out of the plane.

Heard that joke while I was in Omaha about 4 years ago. Maybe it was the beer, but I never laughed so hard

Did it once while at LSU.

Static line. Army surplus parachute. I hit hard after sunset but not full dark.

But the adrenaline rush lasted a few days.

It it a one and done bucket list thing or something you want to do more of once you do it?

I did an accelerated freefall course at the Ascension airport years ago and it was the most exhilarating thing I have ever done. The adrenaline rush was unbelievable. Made a half dozen more jumps and they were all the same type of rush and euphoria.

Then one day, right before I went up again, I got a bad feeling about the jump and that was that. Never went back.

Definitely something you should try once. The feeling you get freefalling at terminal velocity from 10,000 feet and slowly descending to earth under canopy is indescribable.

I did it once as a bucket list kind of thing and then did it a second time when my girlfriend, now wife (no pics) wanted to do it as a bucket list thing.

Funny thing, is that there is no real sensation of height, at least that you would expect while you are free-falling. All the things going on warp your perspective. The speed and wind remove that queasiness that you'd expect to have. Once the shoot goes up, that all changes.

I've head a lot of folks say that the toughest part for them is the moment where you step out of the plane. I kind of thought that was the coolest moment, because thats when you absolutely commit to it and when the sensation of falling is the strongest.
