Was sent an email today basically asking me to verify again I'd rather the "$125" settlement, rather than the credit monitoring.

But, here's their catch now.

In the email is this:
quote:

The amount you receive in connection with your alternative compensation claim may be significantly reduced depending on how many valid claims are ultimately submitted by other class members for this relief. Based on the number of potentially valid claims that have been submitted to date, payments of these benefits likely will be substantially lowered and will be distributed on a proportional basis if the settlement becomes final. Depending on the number of valid claims that are filed, the amount you receive for alternative compensation may be a small percentage of your initial claim.

LoL. Hope none of you already spent that $125.

There's no catch, this is how class actions work. There's a limit pool of money and a large class of people

I got it
Since you have the option to go back & choose credit monitoring I’m going to do that
Will be more valuable in the long run

Will it really? I found out today my Dish Network account comes with free credit monitoring.

Every decent credit card company offers credit monitoring. Don't need equifax for that.

Pay me bitches, anything I get is more than I had. Class action suits should be unconstitutional anyway. The only ones that get paid are the lawyers.

So what happens if everyone chooses credit monitoring? Where does that money go?
