My ex used to cart all our kids off to the pediatric ophthalmologist at least once a year because the oldest needed glasses at a young age. None of the others had ann issue. After the divorce and scheduling was under my control, those appointments have stopped.

There’s a reason urgent cares are popping up like fast food restaurants. These places basically print money knowing overcautious moms will show up for anything

Why are you whining on the OT and not taking control of your wife? You call the shots, but be a cuck.

Mine doesn’t, we still only have one but we will put it off until it’s certain he needs to see a doctor. We don’t mind calling and consulting the on call nurse though.

My sons hardly ever went to the doc. However, I was so protective of my daughter I took her to doc for anything and everything. Once, it saved her life, so I offer no apologies.

Am I being a hard arse or how does everyone else handle this stuff. Genuinely curious.

This isn't unique. My wife is a physician and she says I wouldn't believe the amount of people that waste time bringing their kids to the doctor for nothing. There's nothing a doctor is doing for a kid with a common cold or a simple virus being passed around school. Eat nutritious food, hydrate, take your vitamins, and rest. It'll pass.

Sure she does, then I remind her who ultimately runs the show. When she questions that, which is rare, I tell her to go call her father. He backs me up, she was raised right.

We make decisions together, but I'm the tie breaker. Just gotta chose your battles, and how my kids are raised is worth fighting for

The golden uterus, supermom….My ex did the same thing - she doctor shops until she gets the diagnosis she Googled. Thankfully, I got sole legal custody when my daughter was 13 and put and end to that immediately.

However, fast forward to now, and my daughter just received a conditional appointment to the Naval Academy pending she gets a medical waiver for some things that she was never diagnosed by a doctor. Example - Tachycardia got into her record because my daughter once had some brief symptoms. My ex takes her to the Dr for something else, and tells the Dr she had a history of Tachycardia.

I swear my wife (no pics) will want to take my kids to the doc for a sneeze literally right after it happens (being a little sarcastic but you get my drift).

I bet any males will be a sack of hell on the football field one day.

If my kid is sustaining a 105° fever or wheezing with blue lips / fingertips, his arse is going to the doctor. If that makes me a pussy then so be it. I get letting it ride for an ache or vomiting but holy shite.

7 year old is unvaxxed so he never gets sick. Goes to dr once a year for his yearly checkup.

If you have to ask that, you already know just like I do.

There is a reason my unvaxxed son never gets sick

Not sure if already mentioned, but my wife (and others im sure) are forced by the school to take the kids to the dr in order to get an excused absence from school.

Pisses me off. Sure, the kid is too sick to be at school and needs to recover at home. However, in order to be excused, must be a doctor's excuse.

I essentially pay a $35 copay just to get an excuse.

My 1.5 year old likes to let us know he has an ear infection by projectile vomiting everywhere once he wakes up. So we usually take him after to get him started on whatever treatment. He’s had five ear infections this year and this week we are meeting to schedule tubes. My high deductible plan getting used the F up and he’s draining my HSA

My kids go to the doc once a year for their well visit; they started daycare at 1 month old and are now invincible. In 10 years they’ve been on antibiotics maybe 5 times between the 2 of them.
