got caught in some quick mud near Lake Beuof (sp?) as a kid and my dad had to drag me out. my boots stayed in it.

Funny enough there is a sign along a bike path that I ride regularly near Spring, TX that warns people to stay on the path because there is quicksand in the area.

I remember 1976 Chowchilla kidnapping from the news, and a stupid scholastic magazine article, and it made me worried there were gangs of people that were going to kidnap the school bus and bury it.

Oh Hell yea I worried anytime I came across sand that it held quicksand. My precautions paid off - I was never sucked under in that stuff.

Quicksand and Acid Rain fricked my childhood up a little. Playing outside became scary as frick.
