Sad really that you're all bragging about not using a social network WHILE USING A SOCIAL NETWORK

Sex offenders are not allowed to have a Facebook account in Louisiana. I always think about that when a person in there 20s or 30s claims they don't have Facebook.

Id bet my left nut no one has ever complained to you that you don't know what's going on in their life based solely on your lack of knowledge about their Facebook page

I've had quite a few people, usually acquaintances, tease me about it after they realize I'm not up-to-date with their life.

If you are willing to bet a nut for such a petty gamble, I'm assuming you've got nothing to lose.

Lot of fricking liars in this thread. How can most of you spend all day in your moms basement and not have FB as a time killer? Accept it, losers.

I'm mid-late 20s and started dating current SO around 6 years ago while we were both in college. I had deleted my FB soph year because I hated that anything you did online was as relevant as what you could have done/said in real life(I've always been perfect in first dates and job interviews BC you truly present yourself naturally, saying something like "look me up on FB" instantly made me lose interest in ppl BC people can think about and type anything without any real conviction or showing or seeing real reactions) . Ironically when I started dating current SO she asked me to re-activate account so I could make it official by changing my status lol. I complied, haven't been on since. Her mom and I still laugh about the concept of making it official via FB

I'm almost 40 and got one when it started to become socially unacceptable to not have one (around 2010). I browse often and it's somewhat addicting (similar to TD) although I don't post or share things very often.
Usually when people talk about FB, it's complaining about the extreme posters (politics, over-sharing, etc.). Probably similar to me when I mention TD to my wife and she'll make a comment like "Those people must have a lot of time on their hands to post stuff like that."
FB also has a lot of advantages as I can keep up with family updates in one central place as I have a fairly large family spread between various states. Also, I've seen people mention going to concerts in my area (The Woodlands) that I was fairly good friends with in high school but haven't seen in 10 years. It's allowed me to meet up for a pre-show beer or things like that. I can understand the draw that it enhances relationships that already exist, compared to this site that often creates new relationships with complete strangers.

I do not have a facebook account.
I think I have, or used to have, a Twitter account because someone created one for me so I could look at some pictures they had posted on theirs. That was three years ago and I've never logged on to the account again.
I do have a LinkedIn account that I created about 8-10 years ago when I received one of those emails saying someone I knew was inviting me to join. I've never used the account and wish I'd never created it.
That and posting on TD are about the extent of my social media.

Is this the thread where al the weirdos brag about how much better life is now they have deleted FB?
Yeah I'm sorry that you allowed FB to be such a burden on your life. It's an indictment on you more so than the normal people that know how to navigate FB.

It's not exactly rocket science navigating facebook. You start at the top and scroll down. The problem is the stupid "me, me, me" shite you observe while scrolling.
