Oilfield baws are home and away on a more predictable schedule. Military baws may be home for months or years at a time, then be gone on not much notice. Jody likes consistency.

knew some baws in F-15 sister squadrons based in Germany a few years back, they were notorious for Jodying each others wives when one would deploy and one stayed back, kind of a weird setup because a lot of them knew what was going on and just "lived the lifestyle"

After spending 12 years in the Army on active duty I’ve seen Jody come in and break up families on a regular basis, and it happens most during deployments. Domestic violence on base happens too frequently from what I’ve seen because Jody simply cannot stay away.
