I recently purchased a house. Had the home inspected for termites and everything came back fine. Tonight I have what looks like little tiny termites around my kitchen window. I mean hundreds of them. Time to call someone to treat. Who is the best in the greater Baton Rouge area? Also any idea how much the treatment cost? I don’t mean how much repairs cost(if needed) just the treatment.

Between 500-1200 depending on how large the infestation is. If you have that many visible then you probably have a prettt big problem.

I think it’s just a swarm but I’d like to get the house treated and make sure it’s okay. It has only been 4 months since the inspection that came back fine so hopefully it’s noth too crazy.

I think louis farrakhan wants to use genocide on termites. Not sure how effective his methods are though.

I'd be finding that inspection paperwork and see what it says. Especially if you bought the house recently.

First thing you need to do is make a positive ID on the bugs you saw to see if they are even termites. I get them coming in the house just about every year during their annual swarm in N.O., but that only happens in the spring and not this time of year around here.

Then you can go from there. If you want to tackle the problem yourself, there is an excellent product called "Termidor SC" you can buy on-line and it is about as good as it gets for the DIY'er. I just used it to treat a friends utility shed and one treatment fixed her problem with them.

The biggest expense in treating a house is all the digging the workers have to do to apply the poison.

Post picture of insects that you are seeing. Termites are not swarming this time of year. Call Louisiana Pest Control. Cost of termite treatment is based on size of the structure not the extent of infestation. 225-753-8771. They will come and give free estimate.

Check to see if your house is under contract with someone. Termite treatment contracts transfer to new owner of house.

Strongly suggest not using a baiting system as it's only beneficial if they find the station first, and not your house.

OP, Arcenaux's Pest Control is probably one of the better companies to deal with from a quality to price ration. Depending on your house size, anywhere from 500-1k + 125 a year for a 1mil insurance policy or something like that. Give em a call. You get a discount if you bundle your pest and termite services.
