When i had my ram, the fog lights came on automatically with the low beams. They turned off if you turned the high beams on

Are you talking about aftermarket fog lights, like Hella, PIAA, etc. or stock fog lights in the lower part of the front end?

I run with mine all the time. It gives me better light on the shoulder of the road in case I have to swerve and hit a dog.

This seems to happen a lot in BR. Seems like old POS cars think they can get away with high beams because all of the newer cars have better lights or something and no one will notice. I light them up until they turn them off or pass by.

This. Most new vehicles have automatic lights anyway. My running lights stay on, and it doesn't bother me when others' are on.

I will do it at night when I am somewhere where deer are around. They light up the sides better and I can see more on the side of the road.
