Louis XVI and Nicholas II

Lincoln actually led the country to a civil war.
I'd call it a world war. England and France and Spain (mostly England) instigated that to the point of war. "Free trade" under the British Empire. We think about it as our internal civil war, however Lincoln had a world war on his hands to keep the country united as Europe wanted it divided and England still wanted it back.

To be honest, most world conquerers. We think of Alexander, Genghis Khan, and Julius Caesar as iconic and great men, when really there's not much difference between them and men like Adolf Hitler. Hardcore History did a video on how Hitler will be remembered 2000 years from now, and he thinks they'll have a similar disposition to Hitler as we do to Alexander the Great. For frick's sake, Genghis has a restaurant chain named after him.

Neville Chamberlain. Talk about making the messenger the fall guy, and is it fair to casually mention Mussolini in the same breath with Hitler and Stalin?

John Quincy Adams:
1) U.S. Senator for Massachusetts
2) U.S. Envoy to the U.K.
3) U.S. Minister to Prussia
4) U.S. Minister to the Netherlands
5) U.S. Secretary of State
6) 6th U.S. President
7) U.S. House of Representatives for Massachusetts
His credentials and accomplishments during one of the most formative eras of American history are impressive.

This right here. Once you get a few hundred years after the event. Where the people directly affected are long dead, their children and their children's children are dead, you start to look at what was done in a new light. Much easier to look at these Conquest objectively and see how it played out in the grand scheme you can start seeing good in the atrocities that were committed.

You never know. In 1000 years we may have the Adolf Hitler fine dining experience in the old world city of Las Vegas. It'll be right next to the ancient "strip"

Stalin.
He killed millions and no one holds him to the same standard as Hitler.
Stalin, also, was a monster.

On the note of butchers, Custer was a murdering POS.

Wait, how is he "most misunderstood"? Maybe most unknown?

Donald Trump
Hm. Most people would classify a historical figure as someone from the past, who has been dead for a while.
But good job trying to inject current politics in a non political thread.
You are insufferable

Mickey Mouse.
He's a womanizer but made out to be a solid family mouse.

I get your point about the importance of other Founding Fathers, but Washington could've taken Congress by force at the end of the war but voluntarily gave up command to the civilian government.
Meh, Washington never really had a taste for governing/ruling.
