You don't want to know the answer, but I'll tell you anyway.
Black Americans identify as black or AA because they pretty much can't trace their roots back to the African equivalent of "German," "Irish," "Italian," etc.
I don't know your ancestry, but I'm happy with all my white history celebrations: Saint Patrick's Day, Oktoberfest, Columbus Day, etc, and also I'm not ignorant, so I feel no need to complain that people with no other descriptors of their ancestry other than "African" and "American" celebrate those two things.
If this was really important to you, you would realize that there are countless pieces of our culture that celebrate all the different ancestries that you have, and there's no reason that black Americans shouldn't celebrate their heritage either. I'm sorry that black people get a birthday too.

quote:It isn't a double standard. If you were really proud of what you are, you'd say something like "Erin Go Bragh" or something that actually has to do with your ancestry and culture, but you're more interested in pretending that there's something wrong with black Americans celebrating their own culture despite probably knowing more about their ancestors' owners' lineage than about their own.
the double standard in America is making shite worse.
Say it out loud It is OK
I'm White and I am proud of it
Everyone should be proud of what and who they are. Right?

That really doesn't have anything to do with dating sites. But ok. It would be a fair response to the White entertainment television guy though or to people criticizing Kwanzaa.

All dating sites are for pathetic losers. Old people included

Exactly my point, your senses are restricted over dating websites.

nobody is saying there's something wrong with it...but there is something wrong when you're labeled a racist for celebrating white culture

In order to be in a position to say the other side is wrong, you should understand it. Or try to at least.

is this in response to the OP, which is about a dating site?

if you're a person who comments on these matters, then you "give a shite" and you need to understand the whole picture

that's a pretty racist statement. do you think the people who celebrate black culture are ignorant as well?

thanks...but i don't need to understand some made up definition of racism, created by racist, to try to explain away their racism.
racism is pretty simple...not this complicated shite that the millenials are trying to pass off.
