Cannot believe that was 15 years ago

I was just thinking about that the other day. It just goes to show that time flys by faster than we know it. It's still hard to believe.

New Orleans working out at elm wood downtown. Drive back to my place and immediately called my sister because my BIL worked in the FiDi. Couldn't contact him for about 3 hours because no cell service. Scary as hell

Tending my marijuana crop in a remote corner of the Central California coast. It was a beautiful Indian summer day, quiet, peaceful, not a cloud in the sky.

8th grade. I surprisingly don't remember hearing anything about it on the radio during the ride to school. I walked in the classroom and the teacher had a little radio set up front and center in the classroom, broadcasting coverage of the events. Can't remember if the second plane had hit yet. We didn't do anything during homeroom or the first class period except listen to the radio as the story developed. It was just crazy. We were at P.E and a teacher told us that the buildings fell down. My assumption was that the tops fell off above the impact zones. I didn't realize how big the whole event was until getting home and watching all of the footage

9th grade Art. Had an announcement requesting all students go to a room with a TV. The art class didn't have one so we went next door to the health teachers class. Was very surreal.

I remember the health teacher who was also the football coach telling us how important this was and how it whatever the event would be named would still be a household term in 25 years. We knew it was a big deal, but we REALLY knew it was a big deal when we saw tears in his eyes when the first tower fell. He was a stern man.

He then told us that if we had any family members in the armed forces to give them a hug next time we saw them because they were bound to be called upon. My first cousin who was as close as a big brother to me had just finished basic training. Was an unsettling feeling for a 9th grader.

I was at work. Listening to the radio in the control room.

A engineer I worked with was from NYC and called saying a plane hit the tower. She thought it was a small plane.
I turned the tv on and it definetly didn't look like a small plane hit the tower.

I had a prearranged doctors appointment and was getting picked up from school. They weren't going to let me leave until they found out it was prearranged, they hadn't told us at school yet. I was then diagnosed with asthma.

I was in New Orleans working in the MCI communication site in the Entergy building. I had transferred 3 months before out of Manhattan. I worked at 60 Hudson for two years which is around 12 blocks away from the trade center. Couple of my buddies were stuck there for 3 days.

Senior year coming out of 7:30 art class at LSU. Met a friend in the quad and followed the words "bombs" and "planes" all the way over to the Union.

I cannot imagine if 9/11 had the internet ease that cell phones have now that anyone would not have found out within 3 minutes.
