I really don't want to spend 2hrs a day in traffic. I'd rather pay for private school if I have to.
I live in the Heights for that exact same reason. I drive 10 minutes to and from downtown for work. I come home for lunch to play with my kid. The hour+ I save everyday in commute time is well worth the higher home cost and private school tuition to me.

The Heights is good but you can't be the area around Rice Village.

I am telling you people that porter will be solid real soon. 59 and grand parkway. Grad parkway from 59 to 10 should be done by 2021

s. If you live toward downtown Kingwood, your commute will be at least 45-60 minutes.
We live in the back of Kingwood and I am downtown every morning in 45 minutes max.... And that is with traffic. If I pay to take the HOV lane it is 30 minutes. I don't mind the extra drive time, it is really the only free time I have during the day so I enjoy it

One of my very good friends is trying to gobble up as much real estate he can in porter for this very reason. I wouldn't say "solid" for living real soon, but I would say very valuable very soon

Memorial maybe? Its kinda of pricey and might be too far if you're working near THC.

To each his own, that is totally cool. We lived in a small house in the city for several years before we had dogs and kids, and simply outgrew it. We needed more space and could not afford the square footage of the house you wanted there in the city, so we we needed more space and could not afford the square footage of the house we wanted there in the city, so we moved to the burbs and for the same price got a home that was 3x the square feet as our house in the city.

Braes Heights is a good area that I rarely see mentioned in these threads

Basically south of West U/Southside, east of Bellaire, north of the bayou. Pershing middle school is right in the middle of it.
