Where to buy land in the south Nashville area?

If one were to be purchasing land to build upon in the future in and around the area south of Nashville, where would one do so? The Franklin and Brentwood areas are the types of areas I like but real estate in those areas are obviously out of my budget since I'm OT poor. Looking for a safe and quiet area.
TIA

I'd go the other direction; however, if you are dead-set on South Nashville, look to Nolensville (Williamson County).

Fairview or Maury County. Something out East of Murfreesboro around Auburn or Woodbury could be valuable in a few years.

Are you saying north of Nashville? I thought that area is, um, less than desirable?

My wife has family around Murfreesboro. It's a nice city

How much land we talking about here? If you're looking in the Nolensville / Franklin / Brentwood areas then you better be prepared to pay a lot of money for anything more than an acre.
Look far out for some deals. Maybe Fairview or another county.

You think you’re gonna be the next rascal flats or something? Keep your day job lol

I’ll be up there soon. My wife’s family has some beautiful property in Maury county that we’ll eventually build on. We’ll likely buy something in Williamson county for now though. Nolensville and Fairview are solid.

Do you have kids? If not, school zones are irrelevant. Areas like Joelton and Whites Creek offer an opportunity to buy nice land (cheaply) and are quiet. Also, you can be in downtown Nashville in 15 minutes.
ETA: Do you need to be around Nashville (e.g. work)? If not, how often would you like to go to the city?

Definitely Auburn/Woodbury/Lascassas. We built out near Milton and Lascassas four years ago and the value of our home is now close to 475. Plus, it’s still quiet. Only 45 mins or so from Nashville.

Spring Hill is the correct answer

Drop a little further south into the Thompson’s Station/Spring Hill area. Once you quit cursing over the lack of 4 lane roads, you’ll be fine.

Lived in Nolensville for a time and it's a great little town. It's a pain in the arse to get to the interstate from there though.

Yeah, a lot of factors depend on how much acreage the OP wants to purchase, the need to go to Nashville-Davidson County for work, schools, and so forth.
