4 hours or so you kind of limit yourself but from Baton Rouge id say the best options are

Toledo Bend
Houston
Gulf coast

The drive from Miami to Key West, when the traffic isn't bad.

I love that drive. The coast and the Everglades at the same time is amazing

The military park in Vicksburg is a neat place to drive to, and through. Go while it's cool, and get out and really look at each monument.

I have too many favorites:

Polebridge is 45 minutes north
Many Glacier is 2 hours away
BC is 75 miles away
Whitefish is 10 minutes away
The front range of the Bob Marshall is 2 hours away
Spotted Bear is an hour and a half away
The Missions are an hour and a half away
The Cabinets are 2 hours away
The Idaho Panhandle is 3 hours away
The Whitefish Range is in my backyard
Flathead Lake is 25 minutes away

I could go on....

Alaska.

Where do you like to go that is within a 4-5 hour drive?

In that case - St. George Island is about an hour away and a great place. Apalachicola is pretty cool too.
