I have no idea why the issue brings so much ridicule. And it's certainly a good compliment to any arsenal.

I got a very solid beater that also looks good, based on some great reviews. ~$350. I'll get that link to you later.

If you want a real one pick up one of the ww2 machine pressed ones with rotting shark skin grips.

At least you can make up a war story bout your gramps that way.

Stereotypes of fedora/trench coat/fingerless gloves wearing guys liking swords is funny because it's spot on. Also they have long hair. The guys I knew like that were complete douchebags to be around too because they took themselves way too seriously, talked about chivalry, and considered themselves to be badasses even though they weren't. And definitely like swords.
