My mom's dog died of old age at least 6 months ago. She wants a new dog so I am thinking about getting her one for mother's day.

I'd like to adopt a puppy. Where is the best place in BR to go?

OweO has been getting better lately. Still sucks overall but improving nonetheless.

Do you love her?

If so get her a quality dog from a breeder. Shelter dogs are like playing Russian roulette.

Please make 200% sure she wants a dog. It a big thing to gift a responsibility.

Absolutely. My wife wants one but goes back and forth. One day she said, “you’re just gonna have to surprise me with one one day”. That’s dangerous. She’s wishy washy about getting one now - why would I surprise her with one and then we both get tired of it after a while?

She’ll have to tie porkchops to your chair to get it to play with you

Why not bring her with you and go to a couple of shelters and let her pick out a dog to rescue?

Then she can see firsthand how the dog reacts to her initially.
