The first to arrive came from England in 1628 and the last to get here came from Germany in 1875.

Corleone, Sicily. I think early 1900s they came over. I did some research and found the ship manifest with their names on it. When my great great grandfather came over his last name was changed when he went through Ellis Island.

Dad's side, during Le Grand Derangement in 1755.

Mom's side was from France, a French soldier who was originally stationed in Illinois along the Mississippi, who was transferred to around Pointe Coupee, and got a hold of Cajun tang.

If it wasn’t for immigration there would be exactly zero humans in the Western hemisphere. And yes, I’m including so-called “native Americans”. They, like every group who came later, all came here from somewhere else.

My surname ancestor arrived on the ship UNITY in 1651 along with 149 other men placed into indentured servitude. He was fighting on the side of the Crown and was taken prisoner of war by Cromwells army at the Battle of Dunbar.

On my moms side, my first ancestor arrived in the early 1700s in Charleston, SC. He was a shipwright.

French Hueganought either late 1600' or early 1700s.. When ever they were arriving in Virgina and Carolinas..

Fought in Revolution War.. was taken prisnoer and placed on prisoner ship.. Ate a rat to survive.
Released in prisoner swap and fought in another battle or two.
