Agreed. I think it's a bit much, but it is what we deal with.

Yeah, it would even seem to be a policy that both Republicans (personal choice, no unnecessary red tape etc) and Democrats (it adversely affects poor/working people a lot more since they're the one's most likely putting off appointments) could easily agree on.

I suppose the "Eye Exam lobby" is strong.

Try Visionworks. They also have some contacts in stock so you could possibly walk out wearing them today. They never have mine in stock, but I am very nearsighted.

There are some in Baton Rouge call them even though in the search it says temporarily closed.

The one in metry is open and I got my updated prescription a couple of weeks ago and then wound up ordering the contacts from lens.com. Visionworks does a temperature check and gives you a mask to wear.

Lens.com apparently has an online vision test that you can take with certain limitations.

The yearly prescription has something to do with having a reliable revenue stream, but online tests won't pick up on eye issues like a retinal tear.

You don't remember the big PR media battle in Louisiana a couple of years ago when optometrists wanted to get the state to let them perform more procedures/services in their offices and the ophthalmologists lost their shite?

so it's on you to schedule your yearly exam in a timely manner to avoid disruption.

And mine was just due, scheduled for 1st week of may and got pushed to 2nd or 3rd week, can't remember exactly right now.

I use Walmart optical just because, well, I don't know. Just went there one day instead of Williamson. Anyway, I needed more and ordered them last week and received them Wed. Maybe they're open?
